Owner - ASE Master Certified Automobile Technician
My name is Scott Brown, co-owner of Connie & Dick’s. I came to work for Connie & Dick in 1990 and began ownership in 1993. I am an ASE Master Certified Automobile Technician with over three and a half decades of professional service industry experience. I specialize in engine performance and diagnostics. I am also an instructor and have presented for fellow industry professionals all over the world. Currently, I am engaged with providing hands-on instruction for service professionals engaged in servicing vehicles equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping functions, and other advanced features. If you’re a consumer interested in learning more about these systems I am interested in conducting a clinic on some of these features. For more insight on ADAS, please consider checking out this video. Please reach out and let us know if you’d be interested in attending a clinic on these advanced vehicle systems.
In the early 90’s I began collaborating with other industry professionals, online through a bulletin board system I started called the Garage BBS. In 1995 I joined forces with an industry colleague on a venture that became the International Automotive Technicians Network — iATN, where I retired as company president in 2018. I serve on the Board of Directors for NASTF, AMI, ASCCA, and stay well connected through associations such as ASA, Auto Care, CAT, ETI, I-CAR, & SAE.
I am also the founder of the Diagnostic Network which launched in 2018: https://diag.net.

Hello, my name is Oscar Barroso and I am the Service Manager at Connie & Dick’s. I have been in the automotive service industry for over 10 years following a military career with the U.S. Marines. I value the importance of being a part of something greater than myself, which is why I believe in helping Connie and Dick’s Service Center reach our community to offer our professional services and grow, nurture, and maintain lifelong customer relationships. I work to provide a professional, world-class customer experience that focuses on prolonging the life of the vehicle instead of just applying a patch or a temporary. The automobile is a complex machine and we take deep pride in the fact that we have the skill and expertise on site to provide long lasting solutions for our clients.
In my free time I enjoy working on my motorcycle, outdoor firearm activities, and spending time with my family. When I’m not physically active I also enjoy drawing still life.
ASE Master Certified Automobile Technician
My name is Steven Mittwer, I first took an interest in auto repair when I was a child, helping my father keep the family cars on the road and subsequently, my own cars. In 1990, I started pumping fuel at a local filling station and by 1992, I was beginning my career as an automotive technician. I became ASE certified and received my California Smog Check Inspection and Repair license in 1993. I started at Connie & Dick’s in July of 2015 and have really enjoyed working with some of the great minds and skillsets in the industry, with some of the most advanced diagnostic and repair equipment available.
